On those quite cold winter morning I would grab the 20 guage, throw on my hunting jacket and pants, put on my boots and head out rabbit hunting. When I was young we had a rabbit dog. Her name was Peaches. She was amazing. She would chase them rabbits right to us and sometimes even chase them down before we could get a shot off.
When she was no longer around I had to hunt without dogs and man is it harder. You do however pickup things when you don't have a dog. Like how to pick out rabbits in brush by looking for the black of the eyes. Also how to set up along fence rows so you can get a better shot when you jump them.
